Now you're ready to speed up the tune. I'll assume that you've fitted in the grace notes and other ornaments in without compromising the timing/rhythm. Getting back to the ornamentation, there are a lot of grace-notes and triplets to contend with in this part. You might want to practise them independently in order to incorporate them at this speed. Once you're comfortable with this, you're ready to think about variations and there are plenty of opportunities in this part of the tune. If you're able for the bass, it works best for this tune by using the 1-2 approach (keeping time) instead of droning the

As for part A, bring this part up to speed as required. Getting all the possible embellishments in, without upsetting the rhythm, should be accomplished at this stage. Note the demonstration of the triplet on A. As mentioned earlier, there are plenty of opportunities for small, subtle variations in this part of the tune also. Bear in mind that hornpipes don't have to be played fast.
