This occurs in the third bar of part 1. Instead of playing ADDC in the first part of the bar I drop down to the open D and play DGBD. This variation is simple and subtle. By dropping down to the open D it sort of reverses the trend of the melody.

This occurs in the fifth bar of the second part. Instead of repeating the notes high A, FDF twice, I simply drop down to the lower open A, and come up playing DFA. This bar because of its repetitiveness needs
to be varied. A subtle variation like this fits perfectly.
