Listen to the tune a number of times over before you try playing it.The object of this section is for the student to learn the basic melody.This is a simple melody each part consisting of just four bars repeated. Dont get too worried about incorporating the ornamentation yet.My advice is to practice the ornamentation separately before trying to incorporate it into the tune. Use the loop facility, and refer to notation if you find you are having difficulty with any part.I would strongly recommend that you should favour learning by ear as opposed to notation as will be of more benefit to you later on when trying to pick up tunes at session or off CDs etc.
